While the 1098R may deliver more thrust to the rear tire in the lower gears, the Honda's better-spaced gearbox gives it the advantage in the higher gears at anything other than peak rpm. Huge gaps between the 1098R's curves indicate the transmission ratios are still too widely spaced given the bike's torque curve and redline.
