Good review, albeit heavier on the technical details than on the riding experience. The only thing I'm surprised by is your comment on the Pirelli Scorpions' edge grip - with 700 miles on mine - the tyres well scrubbed-in - I'm running to the edge of the profile even on damp roads with absolutely consistent grip - I'm used to Diablo Corsa IIIs on my other Ducati and have been very pleasantly surprised by the Scorpions in comparison - and if they last longer than the 1500-2500 miles of the Corsas, they're a winner. What the review doesn't say directly is that this bike can go from touristique bimbling around to full-on laugh-out-loud insanity, and I've not so far come across anything on the road that can stay with it on corner exits - this is a truly hilarious motorcycle :-)

Hey Technomad, you seem happy about your new bike. In the article they write about the new engine should improved lowspeed performance, but never really comment on it, how is your take on this? And how is the gearbox on this one? My old 1098 is not the most fun driving around town.
