Chassis
Building on the passion and dedication found in all GSX-R machines, the 2006 GSX-R750 combines theoutstanding size and handling of a 600 with the mind-numbing performance of a liter-class machine.
The'06 GSX-R750 utilizes an all-new and compact chassis, complete with a brand new twin-spar aluminumframe built with optimum rigidity and maximum handling performance in mind.
Rake and trail specificationhave been updated for unmatched handling and the new frame uses five cast sections for maximum controlduring production.
The GSX-R750 also features an updated riding position for optimum rider control, alower seat height and all new adjustable rider footrests for maximum adjustability.
Forks are 41mm Showa units with three way adjustability working in conjunction with a new longeraluminum swingarm and a 40mm rear shock which also boasts adjustability for preload, rebound aswell as high and low speed compression settings.
The new swingarm works with an all-new rear linkage system with a forged aluminum link that pivots onthe swingarm itself with a one-piece forged aluminum link rod connected to the frame.
Brakes are now a combination of a radial pump master cylinder and new larger 310mm rotors up front anda new lightweight single piston rear caliper.
Engine
Powering the 2006 GSX-R750 is an all-new ultra-compact 749cc inline four-cylinder engine with revisedbore and stroke dimensions, updated fuel injection and all-new exhaust system.
The new GSX-R750features a new narrower engine design with revised 70mm x 48.7mm bore and stroke measurement,higher compression ratio of 12.5:1 all designed with maximum performance in mind.
New larger twininjector Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve fuel-injection system feeds the engine with even more performancewhile still maintaining maximum throttle control. Downshifts are a breeze with a new slipper clutchsystem as found on the powerful GSX-R1000.
Ventilation holes between cylinders have been enlarged to 39mm and the GSX-R750 for the first timenow makes use of a secondary balancer shaft for smoother engine performance.
Connecting rods areshotpeened chrome-moly steel and feature an all-new design and, like the GSX-R600 and the GSX-R750,utilize a new crankshaft design with increased inertia for improved cornering performance and stability.
In an effort to maximize mass centralization for optimum handling performance, the 2006 GSX-R750utilizes an innovative under-engine exhaust chamber. The all-new system offers the ultimate benefits ofmass centralization with the exhaust system mounted completely under the engine, and provides anaggressive new look for the GSX-R750. The new exhaust system also uses the proven Suzuki ExhaustTuning system for maximum torque.
Styling
Like the new GSX-R600, the 2006 GSX-R750 receives an aggressive redesign for the new year.
The smallerfront fairing features a more aggressive design, and when combined with the sharply styled fuel tank, allnew tail section with integrated turn signals and new thinner wheel design creates an unmistakable andpurposeful new look for the GSX-R750.
Front turn signals are built into the rear view mirrors for improved visibility and a clean look and a newvertically stacked headlight design allows for ram air ducts to be mounted closer for maximum efficiencyand performance.
All this combined with the new under-engine exhaust system create a sleek andaggressive new look for the all new GSX-R750.
