When first introduced in 2002, the Ducati S4R set the highest performance standard for a modern naked bike. The success of this model led to the birth of an entire Ducati Monster SR range, including the unprecedented new S4Rs, which was highly anticipated and introduced to the public last year.
For 2007, Ducati North America is announcing a brand new version of the Monster S4RTestastretta, which is powered by the same Testastretta low sump L-twin engine that can be found powering the 999 Superbike and winning Superbike races around the world. The performance of the 2007 Monster S4R Testastretta is impressive: the motor boasts a 23 HP gain over its predecessor, increasing from 117 HP to a total of 130 HP. The front end has been redesigned, with radial mount Brembo calipers and fully adjustable inverted Showa forks. The rear suspension boasts a fully adjustable Sachs shock with integrated reservoir and full front and rear ride height adjustability. In addition, the motorcycle has shed almost 10 pounds of dry weight, which all combine to make the S4R Testastretta an incredibly versatile and agile street fighter.
The S4R Testastretta has the traditional clean lines that define the Monster family, and retains the twin vertically stacked shotgun style silencers and aluminum alloy single-sided swing-arm. New for 2007 are Y-shaped 5 spoke rims that improve the rigidity/weight ratio and reduce unsprung weight, which result in better handling. The motorcycle is available in a stunning titanium/red color scheme that is unique and has not been used before on a production Ducati.
