RC8 R POWER PLANT
- 75-degree V-twin EFI 1195cc
- Bore/ Stroke 105x69mm
- 170 Hp, 90.7 lb-ft
- Only 136.9 lbs
Steady power delivery - extremely controllable, even under extreme acceleration
New mapping noticeably improves on/off throttle behavior and thus rideability & controllability RC8 R ENGINE DETAILS
- The bore is increased to 105 mm (+2mm from RC8)
- Superlight pistons with modified connecting rods in a trapeziod shape to minimize oscillating masses. It also increases the size of load bearing area of the piston pin which improves durability under increased compression
- Titanium intake valves 42 mm, exhaust 34 mm (steel)
- Compact 4-valve cylinder head û reworked flat combustion chamber layout & very small valve angle
- Camshafts with adjustable valve timing for racing modifications and tuning potential
- longer valve duration
- State-of-the-art cylinder head and valve train design featuring DLC coatedfinger followers (DLC=Diamond Like Coating)
- Water pump wheel 3D-shaped for increased efficiency
- Integrated heat exchanger with increased capacity for cooling the RC8 R engine (oil and water)
TRANSMISSION
- Totally reworked gearbox for significantly faster, smoother and easier gear changes
- Radially mounted clutch master cylinder with stiffer clutch springs to withstand the increased power and torque for improved durability of the clutch under most extreme race track conditions
- Improved gear shifting through a new gear selector design combined with new softer springs on the selector shaft and detent lever
- New shift drum with modified tracks with a new contour for smoother feel while shifting under load.
- Reduced dog height and width improves gear engagement.
RC8 R CHASSIS DETAILS
- WP TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) coated inner tubes and piston rod
- TiAlN-coating remarkably reduces stiction and friction and improves response characteristics
- Sensitivity of the suspension elements rises significantly which improves the grip level and leads to a faster, smoother ride
- TiAlN coating is 2.5 times more resistant than a chromium coating hardness rises from 1000 HV of a chromium surface to 2500 HV. (HV=Vickers Hardness Scale)
- WP 4354 û 43mm - 120mm travel û 9.5N/mm spring rate
- Stiffer hydraulic setting compared to the 1190 RC8 increased damping settings for race track conditions
- Fully CNC machined top triple clamp saves weight and underlines quality and top level appearance
- Reduced triple clamp offset from 34mm to 28 mm. This increases trail from 91 to 97 mm
- WP 4014 race shock with 120 mm travel
- Stiffer setting compared to the 1190 RC8 with increased damping settings for race track conditions
- Reduced spring rate from 110 to 95 N/mm, provides an improved setting for track usage improves daily riding comfort
- New rear linkage eccentric with a bigger range of adjustment - minimal to maximal rear height varies by 12 mm (7 mm at the 1190 RC8) - 1190 RC8 R is delivered in medium eccentric status (+/- 6 mm) same geometry as the 1190 RC8 (delivered with low eccentric position) û this allows a wider range of variation for easier adjustment to fit a larger choice of race tires.
RC8 R BRAKE DETAILS
- Front: 2 x Brembo Monobloc 4-piston radially bolted fixed-caliper, 320 mm floating brake disc. Radially mounted master cylinder with Front/ Rear steel braided brake lines
- Rear: Brembo 2-piston fixed caliper, 220 mm brake disc
- Thickness of the front brake discs increased by 11% (+0.5 mm from RC8) for more stable temperatures under race conditions and extremely constant modulation and feeling
- A one piece, monobloc caliper offers a more precise and steady brake performance without any deflection
RC8 R WHEEL DETAILS
- Forged Marchesini aluminum wheels
- Compared to cast rims, forged aluminum rims are lighter (front: - 740 grams, rear: -330 grams), and reduce rotating and unsprung masses significantly. Provides for improved suspension response and reduced rotating inertia for better handling, acceleration and deceleration
- Revised stiffness of the forged rear wheel eliminates squealing sound in the 1190 RC8 under excessive use of the rear brake
RC8 R TIRE DETAILS
- Ready to Race tires are standard
- Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP fulfill the 1190 RC8 Ready to Race philosophy
- Lightweight (front tire: 100 gram; rear tire: 100 gram), the tires further reduce weight and rotating inertia of the ultra- light wheels
- Perfect for track day usage
RC8 R DETAILS
- Wind tunnel tested top speed package
- Racing bubble windshield integrates the rider better into the 1190 RC8 R for track use and optimizes top speed and riding stability for even better lap times.
- Carbon front fender weighs just 300 grams (-150 grams compared to the 1190 RC8) reducing unsprung mass around the front wheel. Mounted with 4 screws (1190 RC8: 6 screws) for an even quicker front wheel change under race conditions
RIDER ADJUSTABILITY
- Two different handlebar & foot peg settings
- 20 mm adjustable rear subframe allows seat height adjustments û 805mm > 825mm
- 12mm of rear shock linkage adjustments (ride height)
- Clutch, brake, rear brake pedal and shifter lever and linkage adjustability
- EasyClick passenger seat fixing
- WP adjustable steering damper
- Electronically coded key to deter theft
- Multi-function meter with Race and Road mode
- Rear wheel axle clamps and sprocket design for fast wheel & gearing changes. Rear stand spools are standard
- Quick change license plate and turn signal assembly, mirrors, passenger seat and adjustable footpegs and clip-
ons for street to track conversion
- Weight û 401.2 lbs (w/ out fuel)
