Spec Tires - Are They Necessary?
One of the major obstacles to a spec-tire series is being able to supply the entire grid with enough rubber. Despite its being the largest tire manufacturer in the world, Bridgestone reps said that being forced to supply the MotoGP series' rubber needs would have stretched the company's resources to the limit.
