Former 500cc Grand Prix World Champion Kevin Schwantz has always kept himself involved with racing long after his retirement, and he remains an important mentor to many young riders in the U.S.A. In this OTT interview at the recent AMA test at Fontana, California’s California Speedway, Schwantz talks about his views on helping Yoshimura Suzuki’s Blake Young at the test, the present state of AMA roadracing in America, the Schwantz School in 2010, and helping younger racers in America after the demise of the Red Bull Rookies Cup. He also weighs in on his view regarding fellow Texan Ben Spies’ chances in MotoGP this year.
