Made By Skilled Craftsmen
Said to be "painstakingly made to exacting tolerances by skilled craftsmen," the Jardine RT-5 slip-on exhaust for the new '08 Kawasaki ZX-14 started off utilizing SolidWorks computer imaging software for initial design, with CMM and vector infrared tracer machines fabricating prototype copies to "NASA-type specs." Automated punch presses and CNC tube cutters and benders generate production tube stock at incredible rates of accuracy and speed, while robotic arms plasma-cut and weld components together from precisely written computer programs. Jardine's in-house dyno work was fine-tuned by actual track testing to come up with a 6.5-horsepower increase over stock, with a weight savings of 19 pounds. Available with aluminum ($810.44), titanium ($1000) or carbon-fiber($1075) muffler canisters. For more info call (800) 347-8664 or log on to www.jardineproducts.com.
All Hail The Admiral
Spidi's new Admiral E-Type H2OUT suit is the next generation of the Admiral H2OUT suit we tested back in the July '05 issue. The textile suit uses heavyduty Cordura in the seat, knees, lower back, forearm and shoulder areas for abrasion resistance, with CE-certified shoulder, hip, knee and elbow guards (plus Spidi's Warrior back protector) for impact protection. A new easy-to-use dual-direction zipper runs from the left ankle up to the left side of the chest, while another zipper runs up the right leg, allowing easy entry and exit (the suit is designed to be worn over regular clothing); both zippers are sealed from the elements by a dual fold-over flap system that prevents wind and water from penetrating. The Admiral suit is 100 percent waterproof and windproof, yet the H2OUT liner is breathable. A fully adjustable waist belt, plus straps on the chest, arms and leg, cinches down to reduce garment bulk and wind-flapping noise from loose fabric; a microadjustable snap neck-closure system adapts to multiple layers of clothing without hook-andloop fasteners. A gasketed opening is provided for heated clothing power cords, along with two exterior pockets. In warmer climates four shoulder and back vents can be opened, and reflective fabric on the shoulders, back and elbows provides nighttime safety. Available only in black, in sizes S-XXXL, for $799.99. For more info call (877) 789-4940 or log on to www.motonation.com.
