Welcome to our Hindle Exhaust Systems race update newsletter.
The North American race scene is starting to wind down as the season comes to an end for many series. The Hindle-sponsored 2012 CMRC (Canadian Motorsport Racing Corporation) season has wrapped up, as well as the 2012 CSBK (Canadian Superbike) season.
The AMA Pro Roadracing series is still going strong with Round 10 taking place at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ on September 8, 2012. Round 11 took place at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, FL on September 23, 2012.
Round 10 - New Jersey Motorsports Park Team Dynojet/ZAG Racing's Javelin Broderick (#814), aboard a Hindle-powered Yamaha R6, had a few issues with the bike's cornering in qualifying for the first Motorcycle-SuperStore.com Supersport race. Unfortunately, Javelin ended up in the back row for the start of the race. Disappointed, but yet determined, Javelin ended up pulling ahead in Race 1, finishing in 22nd position. He went from 37th all the way to 22nd (a great 15 positions!).
"Back in 37th position on the starting grid for race 2, there was much quietness. Not a lot to be said as we knew it would be a slug-fest just like race 1. Jav again got a great start and made up some positions on the first few laps and then a red-flag for a crash. By this time, we had made it up to 28th place so he would restart that much further up the order. Again, a great restart and he was off again. Finally dipping into the 28's in his lap times, he continued to make up positions and with only a couple of laps left, had made it back up to 23rd. Then another red flag for another crash and that was it - they called it a race. We finished race 2 in 23rd (14 positions!) place" (quoted from Dynojet/ZAG Racing New Jersey race report).
Round 11 - Homestead-Miami Speedway Florida native, Manny Manusuthakis (#8), came out for his second race of the 2012 AMA season (he had previously raced Daytona) aboard a Hindle-powered Yamaha R6. Manny qualified 14th for the Motorcycle-SuperStore.com Supersport Race 1. Manny pushed hard in race 1, putting him in 23rd place. Dynojet/ZAG Racing's Javelin Broderick, also aboard a Hindle-powered Yamaha R6, qualified 19th for the Motorcycle-SuperStore.com Supersport Race 1. Unfortunately, in Race 1, "Jav had a highspeed crash going into turn 10. With only 3 laps to go he tucked the front at about 120mph" (Bernie Broderick quote), which put him in 26th place.
Despite the high side, Dynojet/ZAG racing were able to get back up and running for the Motorcycle-SuperStore.com Supersport Race 2. Javelin "got swallowed up on the start but worked back to 18th by lap 10. With 8 to go they red-flagged the race for a downed rider and due to some bad weather moving through, they called it" (Bernie Broderick quote). Javelin ended up finishing in 18th position. Manny Manusuthakis did amazing in qualifying 2 and was 8th fastest, aboard the Yamaha R6. After calling the race, Manny ended Race 2 in 22nd place.
Next up is Round 12, October 5-7, 2012, at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, LA.
