R&G has released its Carbon Kevlar Tail Sliders to protect the tail of a bike from light drops and slides, as well as wear from boot scuffs and luggage. The introduction of this new form of defense is part of the motorcycle crash protection leader R&G continued mission to help protect motorcycles from damage and, in turn, save riders money.
A similar concept to R&G's Tank Sliders, released in late 2011, the Tail Sliders are constructed from a combination of super-light and super-strong carbon and Kevlar. The ‘Sliders’ are precision-molded for a perfect close fit to the bike specific tail at the point which protrudes and most commonly makes contact with the ground.
The Sliders are supplied with a tube of silicone to attach them to the tail plastics while allowing existing logos placed on the motorcycle to remain visible. Providing the silicone is used, the guards can be removed without damaging paint and refitted or replaced, if need be.
With a replacement tail being an extremely expensive piece of bodywork, R&G's Tail Sliders are an astute investment and are currently available for a wide range of popular sport and naked bikes. More fitments are continually in development.
