Honda released its first wave of new model info, with the new NT700V sport-touring model and minor updates to the CBR1000RR heading the list for sportbike enthusiasts (the CBR600RR gets some new paint schemes). The expected VFR1200 that we revealed in spy photos back in June wasn’t included with this particular batch of info, although it’s expected that the bike will be revealed next month, even though the Paris bike show that was originally scheduled for October was cancelled due to the concerns regarding the slumping economy.

The NT700V is basically the "Deauville 700" sport-tourer that has been selling well in Europe for the past two years.
The NT700V actually isn’t a “new” model—it’s been selling quite well in Europe for the past two years as the “Deauville 700”. Powered by a liquid-cooled, 52-degree V-twin displacing 680cc and—in European form—cranking out a claimed 67 horsepower, the European NT is intended to be a smaller, lighter, and more affordable version of the ST1300. The five-speed tranny transmits power through a shaft drive, and the NT comes equipped with integrated large capacity hard saddlebags that offer a “pass-through space between the two sides to facilitate packing of longer items and provide additional carrying capacity”; a broad fairing with five-position windscreen helps keep the windblast off the rider. Claimed curb weight is 566 pounds, fuel tank capacity is 5.2 gallons, and the seat height is a manageable 31.7 inches. The NT700V will come in Metallic Red and Metallic Silver, with an MSRP of $9999 for the standard version, and $10,999 for the ABS version (only available in Metallic Silver).

With a 5.2-gallon fuel tank, the 680cc V-twin is sure to get decent fuel mileage. Five-speed tranny is mated to shaft drive, and the suspension is only remote preload adjustable in the rear.

The 2010 CBR1000RR gets a larger (heavier) flywheel to smooth out low and midrange power, along with other minor updates.
The big CBR continues in 2010 with both standard and C-ABS (Combined Anti-Lock Braking System) versions, with the engine now fitted with a larger flywheel to smooth out low and midrange power. The license plate hanger has been redesigned for easier removal during track day sessions, and the lower fairing/muffler cover has been redesigned for “enhanced appearance”. The CBR1000RR now comes in Pearl Orange/Light Metallic Silver and Red/Black editions, with the C-ABS model coming in black only. The CBR600RR is unchanged mechanically, but now comes in Pearl Orange/Black motif, plus a new “Leyla” special custom graphic version; the 600RR also comes in a C-ABS version, in red/black only. Both bikes’ MSRPs have yet to be determined.
