Honda VFR1200 Right
Honda bills the VFR1200F as a sport touring machine with an emphasis on sport. To prove it, the company flew a contingent of journalists to the Sugo circuit in Japan to put it through its paces. They were right.
You've heard all the hype surrounding Honda's 2010 VFR1200F for some time now. You've seen the pictures, made your judgment about its controversial styling and are no doubt enamored with its technological wizardry--namely the Dual Clutch Transmission. Well our man Siahaan is in Japan and finally got a chance to ride the new machine in all its glory around the beautiful Sugo circuit on the northern side of the island. While he doesn't reveal all that the bike has to offer (you'll have to read his full writeup in the print magazine for that), he does get one thing straight right off the bat: Honda's DCT is the real deal and will change the way we look at motorcycling. Check out his blog here to read just what he has to say about the new system. And be sure to read the magazine for the full rundown on the bike.

Just another gadget from honda, part of motorcycling is the mechanical nature of things. who wants to ride a ps3. I will handle the shifting myself thank you.

Too bad the exhaust is so garish. Dual clutch system? Wasn't the late 80's Pacific Coast an automatic too? That bike was grotesque. I can appreciate the technology, but what serious motorcyclist would want an automatic? I was looking for a bike like this to compliment my sportbike. I definitely won't be buying it because of the dual clutch. It would be nice if Sport Rider's next article was titled "The Honda VFR1200F Dual Clutch - how to take the fun out of a motorcycle"

The Dual Clutch Transmission will only be available as an option. A standard six-speed conventional transmission model will also be available.

Thanks, it's good to hear that you can buy it with a standard 6 speed. Honda is now officially pardoned. I feel much better about purchasing this bike now. Years ago I had a 1985 VF1000R and it is still one of my favorite bikes. I hate that I ever sold it.
