Video: Valentino Rossi talks about seven Yamaha M1 MotoGP bikes
In this excellent video from Yamaha, nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi talks about each generation of the YZR-M1 MotoGP racebikes he’s ridden, with an actual version of each bike made available from Yamaha Motor Corporation’s Communication Plaza museum in Iwata-shi, Shizuoka, Japan. Far, far more than your usual brand promotional video, this 16-minute long intimate session with Rossi showcases not only his enjoyment of his years with Yamaha, but also his incredibly detailed memory of each versions’ strengths and possible weaknesses, in addition to the changes made to each one, and his favorite race wins with each edition (he even remembers what his grid position was at each one!). You can easily tell this was no scripted video; Rossi’s memories on each M1 come from the heart, and it’s easy to see why he has a personal connection to each bike he’s ridden. A truly enjoyable video to watch for any racing fan.
