Great article on the basics of tuning rear geometry. A lot of us racers kind of knew this stuff but it's nice to have it confirmed. The right setup will make fine tuning the shock sag, compression and rebound easier and more effective. The only thing not mentioned is that on a lot of bikes fitting a smaller front sprocket or changing the swingarm pivot height will cause the chain to contact the wear block on top of the swingarm throughout the top part of the suspension travel. This is not necessarily undesirable but it will have an effect on things as the suspension compresses.
