Although the new stock rod and piston pin on the left look very similar to the old components on the right, a close examination shows some small changes to the rod design for '08, as well as the smaller-diameter/thicker-wall pin design for the new model. Rod weights are identical, but the new piston pins are 20 grams lighter, a substantial decrease.
