Yamaha Factory Racing finally held its official 2012 team introduction the day before the three-day official IRTA MotoGP test at Jerez, Spain is scheduled to begin. The official livery features Yamaha’s traditional blue/white color scheme, with major sponsorship by Japanese petroleum giant Nippon Oil under its ENEOS brand (curiously competing somewhat with Yamaha’s in-house Yamalube oil brand on the upper fairing). But as has been the case ever since Fiat jumped ship when Rossi left to Ducati, there is no title sponsor for the Yamaha MotoGP squad, a reflection of MotoGP’s troubles in securing sponsorship in the wake of the worldwide economic crisis.
Here then are some official photos from Yamaha Racing that we’ve provided in wallpaper sizes for your desktop viewing pleasure, plus video interviews with Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo, and an introduction to the 2012 Yamaha YZR-M1.
